Synopsis
The Forger ‘family’ are back to continue their adventures – both real and fabricated. Even as Loid Forger learns what it means to be part of a family, he grows impatient to achieve his mission and investigate the Ostania politician Donovan Desmond. Loid is also known as Twilight, a super spy for WISE and his mission involves using a fake family to get close to his target. He has already set up his pretend daughter Anya, at the same school as the politician's son, Damian. Now that the two are striking up an earnest bond the pieces are in place. Anya, who has telepathic abilities as a result of an experiment conducted on her is a single-minded and brilliant child. As a result of her most recent good behaviour she's been promised a dog. Enter Bond Forger, a great white hound who has his own precognition abilities. Meanwhile, Yor Forger, mother, wife, and the secret assassin known as Thorn Princess is intent on protecting her identity. Still untrusting of Loid, with whom she has a growing affection, Yor must be careful not to reveal her secrets. The two are in a literal marriage of convenience but as they continue to fake their love, something of the real thing sparks alive. With so many secrets, Anya with her telepathy is the only one who knows the truth about everyone’s identity. Can they stick together and will they avert the threats that face them as individuals and as a family?

What to know
Spy x Family Season 2 is an upcoming Japanese anime television show produced by Wit Studio and Clover Works for TOHO animation. Kazuhiro Furuhashi will continue directing the show, bringing his signature style to the story. Alongside him is Kazuaki Shimada who handles the character designs; a key part of the show's success. The music also continues to be produced by [K]NoW_NAME who scores the series’ sublime blend of screwball comedy and spy movie tropes. The second cours contains 13 episodes all based on the original manga series by Tatsuya Endo.
Loid Forger, the super spy ‘father figure’ is voiced by Takuya Eguchi with Alex Organ doing the English dub. The much-loved main character, Anya Forger, who looks set to play a larger role in the second part of the series, will continue being voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki with Megan Shipman handling the character in English. Making up the family is Yor Forger, the ‘mother’ and secret assassin, voiced by Saori Hayami and Natalie Van Sistine. Returning to the expanded cast are Hana Sato and Macy Anne Johnson playing Emile. Kensho Ono and Dallas Reid portray Yuri Briar, Yor’s brother who also carries a secret. Yuko Kaida and Stephanie Young play Sylvia Sherwood, the handler for the missions. The second season sees the introduction of Keith Kepler set to be voiced by Hiroshi Takahashi.

- As the final episode of the first cours was released an accompanying trailer for the second was also revealed. The short teaser clip shows Twilight ruminating on war and offers a glimpse at a new member of the Forger family, Bond, the big white dog, last seen at the end of the first cours. (Source: Collider)
